World Kindness Day 2020
Though there should not be just one day to show kindness to each other. Kindness has never harmed anyone; instead, it has always benefitted. It has a role to carry out habits and prosperity. Kindness also depicts behaviours that are acted in a caring way to improve others' welfare and the world. It has allowed the human species to advance and has a massive impact on the provider, the beneficiary, and society.
Therefore, the world celebrates Kindness Day on November 13 every year. The day was born when a collection of humanitarian groups gathered on the date in 1997 and made a "Declaration of Kindness." On this day, individuals endeavor to improve the world by celebrating and advancing great deeds and promising thoughtful gestures, either as people or organizations.
Although this year looks much different from the past, SKIP wants to promote the day differently this year. We can still find kindness in each other. It is our priority and responsibility to inspire hope and joy within our communities and within each other.
We would like to see your way of being kind to the people around you, and thus, we have some Kindness challenges that can be adopted this year and performed –
Write a handwritten note to someone you owe anything to, use your social media to spread positive messages to your friends, give your loved ones a call and ask them their well-being.
Think vastly and be kind to mother earth by spending some time picking up litter, donate some food items to the nearest food bank, spend time with your elderly family members and surprise them with a home-baked cake or a cookie, treat your coworker with a coffee/ tea/ chocolate during your work, or just spend a day cleaning your own room and donate anything you don't use anymore.
